Stream Stability Issues
Posted on Sun, 21 Dec 2014
For the past few weeks, we’ve seen some degradation on the audio for the station at certain times of day, and the situation is getting worse.
Without a stable ISP to push the stream to the audio server, it’s impossible for me to offer the level of service I want to provide to our listeners. The ISP says everything is fine, but of course they’re not seeing what I’m seeing. Worse, they really don’t seem to care.
I’m making other plans that I am sure will resolve these intermittent issues permanently, however it’s no small task to move 100GB of data to a new home. It will therefore be a few days before I can complete the move.
Meanwhile, all I can do is apologize to our listeners and assure all of you that I’m fully aware of the problems and am working as fast as I can to get things resolved. Thanks for hanging in there.
UPDATE January 1 2015 - After making some configuration changes upstream, the ISP appears to have corrected the problem. 56 hours of solid connectivity so far.
